MKS PAMP appoints new Chief Executive Officer
GENEVA – 2nd July 2024 - MKS PAMP, a precious metal market leader providing financial and physical trading services and operating a state-of-the-art precious metals refinery and mint, is pleased to announce the appointment of James Emmett as Chief Executive Officer effective 1st January 2025, taking over from Marwan Shakarchi, who will assume the CEO role of MKS PAMP GROUP.
Mr. Emmett is a distinguished leader in the financial services sector with nearly 30 years of extensive experience, bringing a wealth of global expertise in business, strategy, technology, and operations to his new role.
During his illustrious career, Mr. Emmett held several senior positions, including Chief Executive of HSBC Bank plc and Europe, where he oversaw HSBC’s UK Wholesale Bank and operations across Continental Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Bermuda. His extensive background also includes serving as Chief Operating Officer of HSBC Bank plc, CEO of Turkey, Global Head of Trade and Receivables Finance, Regional President for Metro New York Retail and Small Business Banking, and senior roles in Strategy and Business Management.
Following his tenure at HSBC, Mr. Emmett further honed his leadership skills as CEO & Managing Director of the Diem (Libra) payment network’s operating company in Switzerland, and most recently as COO of the UK Infrastructure Bank, where he helped manage £22bn of infrastructure finance to address climate change and promote regional and local economic growth in the UK.
Since 2022, James has served as a non-executive member of the MKS PAMP Board of Directors which allowed him to gain an acute understanding of MKS PAMP, and its industry.
